Founded by Philip Martin, a qualified taxation and accountancy professional with over 20 years of experience in the finance world, Be Free Accountancy is built on a foundation of practical expertise, technical knowledge, and a passion for helping clients succeed.

 

Philip's journey into accountancy began in the early 2000s, and by 2011 he had earned his qualification with the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT). For many years, he balanced his accountancy work alongside a parallel career in Sound Engineering and the entertainment industry — a dynamic environment that instilled in him adaptability, attention to detail, and an appreciation for the diverse challenges that individuals and small businesses face.

 

After the pandemic Philip made the decision to fully embrace his calling in tax and compliance, completing his studies and qualifying with the Association of Taxation Technicians (ATT). Today, Be Free Accountancy serves a growing client base with tailored, personal service — from sole traders and creatives to small companies and property investors.

Basis of Charging

In accordance with normal professional practice, fees are based upon the degree of responsibility and skill involved and the time necessarily occupied on the work. However, whenever possible we will be happy to agree a fixed price in advance for accounting and taxation compliance activities thus enabling our clients to produce more accurate budgets and cash flows.
